Depth of Field

Photo 1
Deep depth of field

Photo 2
Shallow depth of field.

This project was on the more difficult side of things for me, my camera is new to me and we do not get along however for the deep depth of field I used a regular lens and a smaller aperture to blur the Porsche crest on the hood and capture the body lines and the top of the windscreen along with the outlines of the garage. The second photo I used a larger aperture and the same lens as photo one, I focused only on the horse in the crest but also getting the rest of the Porsche crest in focus and blurring out the rest of the car and surroundings.

Roger the Sand Boa goes exploring

The first photo I took in Petoskey Michigan during my cousin Megan’s wedding, I waited for quite a while to get this photo, I adjusted the polarizer filter on my camera till I got exactly what I wanted with this sunset. The second photo I took my pet Kenyan sand boa Roger outside and he was pretty easy to photograph at first being a nocturnal snake that spends most of his time underground. This picture was pretty straight forward. The third and final picture was a little harder since he woke up and started moving a lot more, he’s a very curious little creature and loves to explore.

Decayed woodpile

Decayed wood pile

Creating this photo I used my Nikon d3400, I was in automatic and attempted to use the manual setting but it would not go into a manual focus so I was stuck on automatic. I took this photo on Friday in my back yard. The wood pile has been there since I moved in and most of it is not usable wood as it crumbles as soon as you pick it up.
